A reflection on our kindergarten classroom.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Wasn’t March 2, 2010 so much fun?  We celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday!  We had visitors from the middle and high school come to our classroom to read to us.  We also got to play games with them.  There was even a puppet show.  Read Across America Day is very important.  It helps us to remember reading.  Do you think that it is important to know how to read?  Why?  What are some of your favorite things to read? Also, you can click on the Cat in the Hat to visit Seussville and play some games!  Be sure to answer our questions first!

Terrific Teeth!

KinderKids, did you know that February is National Children’s Dental Health Month?  I am so happy  that our nation chose to note the importance of healthy teeth.  Can you list some ways you keep your teeth healthy?  Also, maybe you could click on the tooth to play some teeth games.  Be sure to let us know which game you like the best!

Ready, Set, Read!

Hi Kinderkids!  Today while we were having recess, I was working on the computer right beside Abbigail.  Abbigail was working on the website that we always work on during literacy corners, Starfall.com.  Abbigail was laughing and having a great time playing on the computer!  She even made a magician that was dressed just like her…braided pigtails and all!  I was asking Abbigail if she played on that website at home and she said, “no.”  Then I thought to myself, maybe if I put some links on our blog for your parents, you could play some games on your computer at home!  If you click on the pictures below they will take you to a few websites that are so much fun.  After you visit some sites, you could leave us a comment and tell us which game is your favorite!

Phonics Fun!

Do you remember when we played the catching game in phonics?  Tyler, DJ, and Kadence were wearing their letters and saying their sounds and we realized that blending those sounds made a word.  Frog finds the word we built very useful, doesn’t he?  Would you like to build words with the Word World animals?  Take a visit to the Word World website and tell us what you think about the games you play!
